East China's Shandong province unveiled a development plan on March 8 for the Jinan metropolitan circle between 2024 and 2030, as it strives to promote the region's integrated development.
3月8日，山东省政府网站公布了《济南都市圈发展规划（2024-2030年）》。济南区域协调发展迎来关键突破。
Several key areas have been outlined for development within the Jinan metropolitan circle in an effort to enhance the synergy between the cities of Jinan, Zibo, Tai'an, Liaocheng, Dezhou and Binzhou, all located in Shandong province。
根据《规划》，济南都市圈以济南为中心，紧密联系淄博、泰安、德州、聊城、滨州5市，突出“山河交融、中心引领、轴带支撑、全域协调”发展导向，打造济南—淄博、济南—泰安、沿黄发展轴，构建核心引领、轴线展开、多点支撑的网络化都市圈发展格局。
For Jinan, the provincial capital, which serves as the core of the metropolitan area, this move will present both a significant opportunity to enhance the city's development capabilities and a new challenge in transforming its development model.
对于都市圈核心的济南来说，这既是提升城市发展能级的重大机遇，也是对济南转变发展方式的新挑战。
The plan requires Jinan to leverage its strategic location to facilitate the flow of important goods and resources in the region and to turn itself into a strategically pivotal city in the modern logistics sector.
《规划》要求济南发挥战略区位优势，服务区域重要商品和资源要素流通，高标准建设济南综合型现代流通战略支点城市。
In 2023, Jinan's GDP exceeded 1.28 trillion yuan ($177.7 billion), a 6.1-percent increase from the previous year and the 19th highest in the nation.
2023年，济南全年生产总值实现12757.4亿元，比上年增长6.1%，总量位列2023年全国GDP20强城市第19位。
The plan emphasizes promoting the integrated development of Jinan and Zibo in infrastructure, industrial development, ecological conservation, cultural tourism, public services, and social governance.
《规划》提出，依托济青通道，构建以济淄科创制造走廊为主要载体的济淄发展轴，推进济淄两市基础设施、产业发展、生态环保、文化旅游、公共服务、社会治理“六个同城化”建设。
It calls for deepening the integration between Jinan and Tai'an in areas such as infrastructure, industrial ecology and public services.
根据《规划》，济南与泰安将在基础设施、产业生态、公共服务等领域加深同城化合作。
As a crucial part of the national strategy for developing the Yellow River Basin, the Jinan metropolitan circle will serve as an example in ecological protection and high-quality development within the Yellow River Basin.
